When a driver is traveling with a hitched trailer, they need to be cautious. A simple mistake could cause the trailer to go out of alignment with the vehicle. In some cases, falling asleep or getting distracted could lead to a catastrophic collision.

It isn’t yet clear why the crash that resulted in the deaths of 10 racehorses took place, according to reports, but two drivers had to be hospitalized after a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike. The van that collided was being operated by Sallee Horse Vans, and the owner reported that the drivers both had to be treated at the hospital for smoke inhalation. Sadly, the trailer of horses they were pulling hit a concrete barrier and the horses died.

The crash, which happened at around 3:00 a.m., took the lives of several champion horses, including Hot Mist and Under the Oaks. The vehicle had been on its way to New York when the unexpected collision happened.

In an incident like this one, it’s hard to say who is to blame. It will take an investigation to determine if there was a manufacturing error or motor vehicle defect that caused the collision or if it was the fault of the driver who was behind the wheel at the time.

If you are involved in a crash because the driver of your vehicle makes a mistake, you may be able to seek compensation from their insurance coverage or through other means. If it is a mechanical failure or another issue that leads to your collision, then there may be other options for you to pursue compensation through as well.
