When a driver is fleeing from the police, there is always a risk that the individual is going to do something to put others in danger. Unfortunately, that’s what happened in this story out of Trenton. Six police officers were injured, three of whom are still hospitalized, as a result of the collision following a police chase.

The news states that the Trenton police officers saw a social media post where a group was brandishing weapons and allegedly looking for people to shoot. The authorities began to follow a red Ford Focus shortly after that. The vehicle was stolen, and the driver soon began to flee the police.

During the police chase, the driver reportedly fired shots at the officers. Fortunately, the officers were not hit. However, the chase ended quickly when the driver of the stolen vehicle hit a Trenton police SUV and minivan.

While six officers were hurt, the three people inside the vehicle were able to be apprehended. Those individuals, who ranged between 16 and 19 years of age, were charged for several crimes including attempted murder.

This kind of car crash is truly a shock, and it’s one reason why officers don’t always pursue police chases. They are dangerous and can end up involving vehicles and individuals that they shouldn’t. If you see the police chasing someone, pull over to the side of the road or get out of the way however you can. This is a dangerous situation to be in.

If you are hit by a reckless driver, remember that you can pursue a claim against them for your damages — no matter who they are. Their actions have consequences, and you should be able to seek compensation for what you’ve been through.
